Hon. Tomas P. Manalo Retires from Public Service, Remains an MC Trustee


Honorable Tomas P. Manalo, one of the founding fathers of MC, retires from public service on June 30, 2010, after serving the people of Mabalacat for more than four decades. During his last term as a member of the Sangguniang Bayan, Tang Tom chaired the Committee on Education and served the college as an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees (BOT). He is replaced by Hon. Froylan L. Galang.

However, in recognition of his untiring support to the College, the BOT elected Tang Tom during its June 22, 2010 special meeting. He now sits as trustee representing the prominent citizens of Mabalacat. “As to serving the people of Mabalacat, I am only semi-retired,” Tang Tom declared.

Tang Tom’s long political career spanned for four decades. He served as the Floor Leader of the Sangguniang Bayan of Mabalacat under the administrations of Mayor Wilfredo C. Halili (1972-1986), Mayor Catalino T. Domingo (1992-1995) and Mayor Marino P. Morales (1995-1998).

He also served as ex-officio member of Sangguniang Bayan of Mabalacat under the administrations Mayor Juan G. Santos (1986-1987) and as an elected member of Sangguniang Bayan under Mayor Wilfredo C. Halili (1988-1992).

MC Beefs Up its Faculty Force


With the enormous increase in the number of students enrolled in the College during the Academic Year 2010-2011, MC hired twelve (12) new members of the Faculty to handle courses in different fields offered by the College.

The College Personnel Selection Board (CPSB), headed by Dr. Leonardo C. Canlas, College President, evaluated the credentials and employment records of a number of applicants. And upon recommendation of the CPSB, the MC Board of Trustees, chaired by Mayor Marino P. Morales, during its second regular meeting held on June 10, 2010, appointed the new members of the Faculty. They are:

Arnel G. Perez – Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology handles Psychology courses.

Maila Z. Joanino, Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology, handles Psychology and related Social Science courses.

Marites T. Due, Doctor of Education major in Educational Management, Master of Professional Studies major in Science Education, Bachelor of Science in Biology major in Zoology, handles Natural Sciences courses.

Eduard D. Ramos, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in History, handles Philippine History and related Social Science courses.

Ernie Lee E. Pineda, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, handles in Information Technology courses.   

Jemima S. Santos, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, cum laude, handles English Language courses.

Maria Blesila P. De Lara, Bachelor in Elementary Education major in Pre-School Education, coordinates the Pre-School Education Program. She ranked 7th place in the licensure examination for teachers (elementary level).

Michael T. Villanueva, Master of Education in Educational Technology, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, handles Mathematics and Computer Literacy courses.

Rebecca Q. Lising, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting, handles Basic Accounting courses.

Robert Q. Quizon, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Management with area of specialization: Information Technology, handles Business Management courses.

Rolando M. Baluyut, Bachelor of Science in Commerce, handles National Service Training Program (NSTP) courses.

Susan E. Manuel, Master in Physical Education and Sports, handles Physical Education courses.

Pursuant to Board of Trustees Resolution no. 02, series of 2009, all the new appointees shall hold office on a temporary status for a maximum period of three (3) years. Permanent appointment shall be issued to a faculty member who earned a vertically-aligned master’s degree and registered a very satisfactory performance during the period of temporary employment.
